We still need to clean up after the Santa Ana Winds but we put that off long enough to participate in a clean up of the Temescal Wash. The Temescal Creek flows from the Santa Ana Mountains to Lake Elsinore, Corona Lake and then behind our neighborhood and into the Prado Basin. There was over 300 people pulling out truckloads of garbage from the watershed. Our family took out nine bags of trash plus a bicycle, a shopping cart, a tire, and a couple televisions. Kind of fitting that Temescal is the Native American word for sweat lodge.
