I've tried to beat some of the heat by working in the early morning before going to work. Positioning the bricks is kind of a crafty endeavor. I've found the easiest way is to imagine a stream, flowing around the rocks , from the sidewalk to the gate. The other rule, is once you've picked up a brick, don't set it down till you've found a place for it. I'll wander down to the creek to find some interesting stones to place in the odd little spaces that don't really accommodate a brick. Once Sherry gives everything the green light, I'll sweep in some topper mix and finish it off.
